Wine Description:

For the Rosso di Montepulciano was made a choice without compromise: were selected vineyards with the characteristics most peculiar to obtain a young wine, fruity, full-bodied but not hard. It is thus that is born the Rosso di Montepulciano, wine fragrant, fresh with a strong personality.

For the whole meal, perfectly blends with stuffed pasta typical of the Tuscan tradition.

Area of Production:

Montepulciano is a picturesque hill town 25 miles (40km) southeast of Siena, southeastern Tuscany. Viticulture here dates back many centuries to Etruscan times. According to DOCG rules, to be labeled as Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a wine must come from vineyards on the hills which surround the village of Montepulciano. This area is made up of slopes reaching 820–1968ft (250–600m) in altitude, located between two rivers.

Grapes:

Rosso di Montepulciano is a DOC for red wines based on the Sangiovese grape located in Tuscany, central Italy. It is the junior appellation of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG. Generally this wine (like its neighbor Rosso di Montalcino and its relation to Brunello di Montalcino) is an easier-drinking, fresher and fruitier version of the senior wine, though it is shorter lived.
