Area of Production:
Vermentino is a white wine grape grown in various locations around the western Mediterranean. The main areas in which Vermentino di Toscana is grown are those of Grosseto, Livorno, Lucca and Massa Carrara; in the rest of the region the cultivation is however authorized. Just down the coast in Tuscany, the vineyards of Bolgheri produce some of Italy's very richest Vermentino. The Tuscan climate – warmer and sunnier than that of Liguria – combines with winemaking techniques such as skin contact, lees contact and barrel aging to create Vermentino whose weight and aromatic complexity.
Grapes:
Vermentino grape expresses a beautifully refined, light citrus and tree fruit personality. Vermentino is a thin-skinned white wine grape. It thrives in warmer climate regions, due to its tendency to ripen quite late in the growing season. Vermentino di Toscana shines in its straw yellow color mottled with light greenish and golden reflections. Vermentino wines have refreshing acidity and attractive aromas of peach, lemon peel, dried herbs and a whiff of saline minerality.
"Vittoria" Collection:
The peacock is known for the charm and mysterious symbolisms since ancient times and it signifies longevity, love and rebirth. Due to the beauty of its feathers, it is recognized as a symbol of good luck, pride and vanity. The eyes of its plumage represent the universe, the sun, the moon and the starry sky.
The Romans called it "The Bird of Hera" (the Goddess Hera, also named Juno by the Romans, wife of Jupiter), who embodied the ideals of royalty, beauty and immortality.
The peacock is a constant theme for Tenuta Torciano Winery, in real life and in the creation of wines, it symbolizes the concept of rebirth in a realistic and abstract way: when the peacock shows itself, it gives us the certainty that all that has been lost will be replaced with something new and that whatever happens in our life will lead to a new beginning. The peacock, aesthetically and symbolically, contains all the distinctive elements of Torciano Winery: the mix of colors, the combination of vines, impeccable quality, positivity and foresight.
