The red wine cake is a soft and fragrant dessert. The dough, whose flavor recalls the intense and spicy flavor of mulled wine, is then enriched with cocoa, dark chocolate and red wine, ingredients that give it a truly unique and enveloping aroma.

Method:

Put the cocoa, butter, sugar and wine and a pinch of salt in a saucepan. Cook over low heat until creamy. Pour the cream obtained into a large bowl.

Add the eggs once, turning to absorb each one before adding the next. Then add the flour, chopped chocolate and baking powder. Knead until you get a homogeneous mixture.

Pour the mixture into a greased and floured pan, then bake the red wine cake in a preheated oven at 160° (320F) and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool.

  • 1 ½ cup (300 g) sugar
  • 1 cup (200 g) butter
  • ½ cup (150 g) red wine

  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) baking powder
